Codeep Voice for Posts WordPress audio

A Trinity Audio alternative for WordPress

If a monthly credit allowance gets in the way of recording your blog, Codeep Voice offers another approach: make the MP3s on your own computer and keep them in WordPress. Here is what you gain and what you give up.

The demo opens on Hugging Face and turns up to 800 characters of English text into an MP3. It downloads the model first and does not connect to WordPress. The free plugin reads English. Pro, including other languages, is coming soon. Check Pro availability.

Free plans are different

Trinity's WordPress FAQ lists five free credits per month on one domain. Codeep has no monthly recording allowance, but your computer does the work and your WordPress hosting stores the files.

When Trinity fits better

Keep Trinity on your shortlist if you need its broader language selection now, publisher advertising tools or listening reports. A hosted service also avoids making your own computer the recording machine. Check which features your particular plan includes.

When Codeep fits better

Try Codeep if you want to record English posts without a credit balance, keep the MP3s in WordPress and serve them like other media files. It suits a workflow where you can leave an admin tab open while recording.

Keeping audio is not the same as hosting it yourself

Trinity explicitly says recordings remain accessible when plans change. We do not claim switching is necessary to keep that access. Its public WordPress FAQ does not establish a complete export or self-hosting policy; ask Trinity about those details before moving an archive.

With Codeep, the result is an MP3 attachment in your own Media Library. You can download it, back it up or serve it from your WordPress storage. A lapsed Pro subscription does not delete existing recordings; the free plugin can continue to play them.

The cost that moves to your computer

Local generation has a real cost in time, memory and storage. The voice model downloads on first use, and recording speed depends on your hardware and chosen voice. Keep the admin tab open until the file is saved. Readers only download the audio and player, not the model.

Pro adds bulk recording, recording from the open editor on publish, a pronunciation dictionary and a podcast feed. It is a yearly subscription: $49 for one site or $99 for five, before tax. Check the Pro page for features and current availability. You can evaluate the free English workflow now.

Start with a single test post

  1. Use the local recording demo to check your computer before installing.
  2. Record one English post with the free plugin. Listen to names and any specialist terminology.
  3. Turn off Trinity's player on that test post, then check the new player and MP3 download.
  4. Verify language coverage and any export needs before changing a paid plan.

There is no built-in Trinity import or credit-transfer tool. These steps create a new recording; they do not migrate an existing Trinity library.
